LIFT is an industry advocacy organization representing New York's aerospace and defense related industries. We work with manufacturers, educators, workforce organizations, and government at every level to keep this industry — and the careers it provides — growing in New York.
Our work is organized around four missions: building the industry's future workforce through training and education initiatives like 3000 by 30; advocating for common-sense cybersecurity requirements that small suppliers can meet; pressing for elimination of SEC reporting flow-downs onto private small businesses; and aggregating industry data so business planners and policy makers can act on facts.
From Grumman's lunar module to Republic Aviation's Thunderbolts, New York — and Long Island in particular — helped write the history of American aerospace. That legacy lives on today in roughly 250 companies employing some 25,000 New Yorkers, producing mission-critical hardware for the nation's air, space, and maritime platforms. Our job is to make sure the next chapter is written here too.
If you run an aerospace or defense related business in New York, teach or administer a technical education program, or shape policy that touches this industry, we want to hear from you. Reach out to discuss membership, partnership, data, or any of our advocacy priorities.
